Please note there will be no supper this month due to limited numbers attending, and this event will be smart casual dress.

We have Dr Henry Goodall from New Forest Airfields coming to talk to
us, which promises to be very interesting.

April Mess Night is fast approaching – Tuesday 11 April at 19.30 for 20.00.

The Parkstone Sea Cadets are coming along to tell us about their adventures on the high seas, followed by a quiz.

Candy is doing one of her lovely buffets, followed by the raffle.

Mess Night – Tuesday 14 March 2023 (Branch Birthday Party)

To all shipmates, please come along and join us at our Branch Birthday Party on Tuesday 14 March.

We have a guest speaker, Vince Noyce from the Portsmouth Distillery, giving us a talk on the production of gin and rum – there will be samples available.

This will be followed by a buffet and a birthday cake made by shipmate Fiona Dodds.

To help with the numbers to be catered for, please confirm with shipmate Pauline whether you will/will not be attending by midday on Sunday 12 March 2023.

Mess Night – Tuesday 10 January 2023

To all Shipmates

For our first Mess Night of 2023 we are delighted to have a guest speaker; retired Royal Marines Corps Regimental Sergeant Major, George Foster. He will be speaking about his ‘Role as a Yeoman Warder of The Queen’s Bodyguard’.

We are sure you will find this a hugely interesting and entertaining talk, which will be followed by a buffet.

Christmas Party Mess Night – Tuesday 13 December 2022

Shipmates, we are pleased to confirm the following arrangements for our branch Christmas Party:

  • Date – Tuesday 13 December 2022
  • Time – 7.30pm for 8pm start
  • Entertainment will be provided by the vintage vocal harmony duo “Scarlet Swing”
  • Extra special complementary Christmas Buffet

There will also be a Christmas Raffle – contributions from mess members will be gratefully received.

In an effort to cater for numbers, please confirm one way or the other if you will be attending to either Pauline Chalk (rna.ferndownanddistrict@gmail.com) or Lynda Drake (lyndadrake.ferndownrna@btinternet.com) by Monday 5th December.

Dancing shoes and Christmas jumpers are optional! In any event the rig for the evening is casual.

Mess Night – Tuesday 8 November 2022

Hello Shipmates

At November’s Mess Night there will be a short presentation by Norman and Robert Aish, who will also be donating a cheque to the branch, after which we have a presentation on ‘The British Pacific Fleet 1944-45’ by S/m Ralph Dodds. This will be followed by a buffet prepared by Candy.

The Rig for the evening will be Jackets.
