Dear Shipmates

Our August meeting is an Afternoon Tea with Ralph and Fiona Dodds at their home on Saturday, 15th August 2026 – please see the email circulated to members for the address.

The time will most likely be 1500 hours, however, if this time changes you will be notified.

There will be a £5 per person charge to cover expenses which is payable at the event, and any excess will of course go to Branch funds.

If you expect to attend, please inform either Ralph or Linda by 10th August for catering purposes, obviously partners are very welcome:

Our next Mess Night is this coming Tuesday, 14th July, 7.30 for 8.00 pm at Ferndown Village Hall.

This will be a talk by Ralph Dodds on the history of the TVR sports car. This will be a very interesting talk and Ralph hopes to have a TVR in the car park for inspection, weather permitting.

Tea and coffee will be available, but please feel free to bring anything else you would like to drink, or eat.

There will be a raffle later.

Just a reminder that we are holding our AGM next Tuesday, 13 January 2026, at 19.30 at Ferndown Village Hall.

Hello Shipmates

Our Christmas Party will take place in the Studio at Ferndown Village Hall on Tuesday 9 December 2025 at 2000 hours. Please note this is a different room to the normal meeting room.

We have musical entertainment provided by Fiona and Emma, a lovely Christmas spread, and of course a Christmas Raffle.

So do come along and join in the Festive Fun – Christmas jumpers optional!

Our next Mess Night is Tuesday 11 November, 7.30 for 8.00 at Ferndown Village Hall.

In recognition that it is Remembrance Day, Ralph Dodds, our Chairman, will be speaking on “More than Two World Wars”, a look at conflict since 1945 that has resulted in the loss of British servicemen’s and women’s lives. Ralph’s talk will be followed by the raffle.

Noting the date, if any Shipmates would wish to wear blazers, we would encourage it, though it is not mandatory.

Royal Naval Association Ferndown and District Branch is excited to announce that our October Mess Night will be the first at our new venue, Ferndown Village Hall – please see map for location details.

This will take place on Tuesday 14th October at 1930 for 2000, when we will welcome back Mr Chris Brown from the Commonwealth War Graves Commission.

Those of you who were present in July will testify that Chris is an excellent speaker, and this will be the next in his series of talks about the work of the Commission.

It would be great to see as many of you as possible supporting us at our new venue. Visitors, new members and guests are especially welcome.
